Me getting used to openMSX as a TASing platform, this is Vampire Killer, or Castlevania's overseas cousin which he only sees every few years or so. Unlike most other emulators, openMSX uses a rewind kind of system and is highly dependent on command-lines, making it difficult to get used to.
Vampire Killer itself has a more nonlinear style to it: You have to collect a key in every stage to open the door to continue. There are also other powerups to be found, but I mostly ignore those. The game seems to be put together very haphazardly, even more so than the NES Castlevania, as evidenced by odd whip collision detection, a lot of sprite flickering and other such oddities.
I'm primarily using Vampier's run as a base for mine, but with the added advantage of using frame advance to get this as optimized as possible. (Not an easy task at times, I have to tell you)
This run completes Stages 1 - 3 and fights the giant bat. It is highly unoptimized, and the Boss is done very poorly. I'm going to redo the run in its entirety later. Anyway, hope you like watching this nonetheless
