IIT JAM biotechnology Preparation - This know your exam series video lecture explains how to crack iit jam exam. It also discusses about the IIT JAM exam question pattern, difficulty, eligibility criteria, seat limits, qualifying marks and many tips and tricks about how to prepare for the IIT JAM exam on biotechnology. This video will guide you to qualify IIT JAM entrance test.
Following are the details about the exam -
1. Exam commencement date every year: February
2. Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree. 55% aggregate marks, without rounding off for General/OBC-NCL Category Applicants and at least 50% aggregate marks.
3. Exam structure: Total marks 100. Question no 60 divided in section A, B & C. Time duration 3 hours. Online computer based test. Exam occur on seven papers Biological Sciences (BL), Chemistry (CY), Mathematics (MA), Geology (GG), Physics (PH), Biotechnology (BT), Mathematical Statistics (MS). Virtual calculator will be provided.
4. Marking scheme: A, Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) contain 30 question. Out of 30, 10 are of one mark and 20 are of two mark, total 50. Negative marking 1/3 for one mark question and 2/3 for two mark questions.
B, Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) with one or more correct answer contain 10 question two marks each, total 20. No negative marking.
C, Numerical Answer Type (NAT) contain 20 question. Out of 20, 10 with one mark and 10 question with two marks, total 30. no negative marking.
5. Cut off: In biological science, General (33), OBC (27.8), SC/ST (16.5). In biotechnology General (36), OBC (30.5), SC/ST (17).
6. No of seat: No of seats are variable along the various center of admitting institute.
7. Difficulty: Need to be strong at basic concept.
8. Exam fees: One Test Paper, General/ OBC (Only Males) Rs 1,500 and Rs 750 for SC/ ST/ PwD (Only Males)/ All Females. For Two Test Papers, General/ OBC (Only Males) Rs. 2,100 and Rs. 1,050 for SC/ ST/ PwD (Only Males)/ All Females.
9. Why is that exam conducted: Exam offers MSc and integrated PhD courses.
10. Conducted by which organization: IIT (one among the top 7)
