Video-on-demand (VOD), already a hit in many developed countries, is set to change the way that people consume content locally; with industry experts saying this digital disruption will be the biggest change to hit the television sector since the introduction of pay-TV in 1986. While it promises to be a win for consumers, it will also put pressure on revenue streams for traditional pay-TV businesses - not to mention the corner video stores.
