Turn the #49ers intrigue up a a volume! It seems Sources with the team were gushing about Quinnen Williams. They think he is a rare prospect with an amazing skill set of speed and athleticism. Team sources also like Williams’ makeup as an individual, and they are very high on his immense upside. Team sources were gushing about how Williams dominated in 2018 in only his first season of real playing time. They feel that the sky is the limit for his potential.
With Bosa, their praise was not as heartfelt. They like him and feel he is probably the safer pick, but they did not talk about him as being as special of a player or athlete like Williams is. The other thing going for Bosa is edge rush is a bigger need than defensive tackle. Defensive end Solomon Thomas has been a massive disappointment so far in the pass rush department, while defensive tackle DeForest Buckner was superb last year, ripping off 12 sacks in his third season. Keeping that fact in mind has speculations running in all directions
It also could be that with the acquisition of defensive end / Outside linebacker Dee Ford that the thinking may be stimulated that somebody may need to move over and let a player work next to Buckner who could be much more effective. That would enable Bucker who may soon be designated as elite more opportunity
It seems the addition of Tevin Coleman has sparked conversations of Jerick Mckinnon being traded. Rumor has it that the #Eagles and 49ers were talking due to the lack of a worthwhile running back in Cleveland. First it was Matt Breida that we heard, and that has within the last 24 hours changed to Mckinnon. Meanwhile coach Kyle Shanahan when asked about suiting up 4 RB’s in a game is quoted saying: “I think we’re in a situation right now, just looking at our roster, that I think it could make a lot of sense this year.”
Who would the 49ers be pursuing from the Eagles if any of the rumors were true? Is Nelson Agholor a value pick vs Matt Breida or Jerick Mckinnon?
