Simple Card Game: One Card Stop

This is a video describing a simple UNO like game called One Card Stop; which is played with a regular playing card. Here, I am playing it with my 3-year old who is (quite good) at this game. It's a fun clean game that can be as simple as you want it to be; or as complex as you want it to be. It takes less than 3 minutes to learn. As you play more; you will begin to formulate a deeper understanding of the game and new and useful strategies will begin to form. Strategies for 2 players vs more players vary slightly.

This is a shedding game; and basically an easier version of the card game "UNO" but with a regular deck of playing cards.

This game can be played with 2~7 players.

If more than 4 players; 2 decks of cards are recommended.

Rules:

5 cards are dealt to each player in a clockwise fashion. When finished; one card is turned face up to start the discard pile. The rest of the deck is the stock pile.

The goal of the game is to shed all your cards first.

The player who was dealt first starts the game; OR the player who lost the last right begins play. Play progresses clockwise.

In this example; the discard pile was started with a Club4. So any Club can be played. Any 4 can be played also. If you do not have a card of the same suit or same number, then you can either play a Jack if you have one; (Jacks can be played at any time) or you draw a card from the stock pile.

Two's: Two are special in this game. When a player plays a two; the following player must draw two cards and lose their turn.

Daisy-chaining Two's: If the previous player plays a two; and you also have a two; then the following player draws FOUR cards. If the following player has a two as well; then they player after them draws SIX cards. Every deuce adds 2 to the drawing by the following player.

Jacks: Jacks can be played at any time; regardless of current suit in play. When a player plays a jack; they are allowed to change the suit in play.

Last card as a Jack: If the last card played is a Jack; then the player does NOT get to declare the new suit; but instead; the new suit in play is the suit of the Jack played.

Yelling out "ONE CARD!" When a player has one card left; they must declare so by yelling out "One Card!" (Just like yelling out "Uno!") Failure to do so results in a penalty of 2 cards from the stock pile.

"STOP!" When a player has played their final card; they are required to yell out "STOP!". Failure to do so results in a penalty of 2 cards from the stock pile and continued play.

That's it! I hope you enjoy the game, please give me feedback. This is a game I played when I was like 5 or 6 years old in Taiwan. My 3 and 5 year old greatly enjoy it; and my 3 year old has great strategies for it.
