To save territory of the Jammu & Kashmir from the attack of the Azad Kashmir forces; then ruler of Jammu & Kashmir Maharaji Hari singh and Jawahar lal Sign the accession of treaty on 26 October 1947. In this treaty Jammu & Kashmir surrendered only three subjects i.e. external affairs, defence and communication to the Indian Government and in pursuance of this commitment #article370 was incorporated in the constitution of India.<br />
